Today I played in a single table hold'em tournament at Dano's place.

I got lucky early on when I flopped a set of 7's and doubled up from a guy with top pair, but from there it was all down hill :(

- My JJ ran into "crazy guy" who limp called pre flop on the button with QQ. I had him covered and I pushed him all in when the flop came down low and ragged. This guy was IMPOSSIBLE to read, and I still like my move here even though I was beat.

- I raised pre flop 5 handed with TT, and the flop came down AJ8. My opponents bet out and I had to fold as I knew one of them had an ace. They ended up showing AQ and AK.

- Immediately after my hand with pocket tens, it was 4 handed and I raised under the gun with 88. I got re-raised by the guy on my left. I decided to fold because my opponenet was tight, and he saw me as a solid, tight-aggressive player. He didn't show but he said he had pocket Kings.

After that I was short stacked. I pushed all in a couple of times to pick up the blinds - once even in the dark (call me a degenerate gambler) because I was so short! A while later I got A8 and pushed, but got called by the chip leader with AJ. His Jack held up and I was done!

Well this home game was a bust for me...but I just remind myself that poker is all about long run results, and you can't get unlucky all the time.
