Steve's Home Poker Blog > Finally...a home poker game!

I haven't been able to host a home game since last year, and needless to say I'm jonesin!

Well next weekend is looking good because I have a full table of 8 players! We're starting off with a $10 buy in single table tournament (sit and go) which is structured similar to the tournaments at our local casinos:

- cheap buy in
- short blind levels
- short starting stacks.

I know it's a crapshoot but I figure it's good practice.

As people bust out of the tourney, we'll start up a ring game. We usually play a No Limit Texas Hold'em game with .25/.25 or .25/.50 blinds and a $10-$40 buy in (depending on what the majority of players feel like).

It's been sooo long since I've hosted a home game so I'm REALLY looking forward to this one :)

i know what u mean when u say jonesin!

when i found your site about a year ago...

I was talking to a buddy and said What if we had poker game were we gave out points. Then maybe we could get more than 4 or 5 player to show up for a game. He said that was stupid and no one would go for it.
Thats funny now hes are points leader! So i guess if not for your free site i would most likely be Jones-in right now!

Good stuff!

It's great to hear that the stats have encouraged participation in your home games! Hopefully it has encouraged some of your players to study up on poker and improved their game too.
